Communion
"For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes."
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Communion began on the annual celebration of Passover when Jesus told his disciples to remember his sacrifice as they ate the bread and drank the wine.
Holy communion uses bread as a symbol of the body of Jesus and wine as a symbol of his blood.
The act of taking communion is an act of worship and remembrance.
We will never know how much it cost to see our sin upon that cross, so here we are to worship.
A song to listen to whilst you take communion this morning and worship God:
